"The Wandering Church ". Berlin.

Thanks to the support of the City the project will remain permantly in Berlin.
With the Project “Urban Memories” the Spanish artist Juan Garaizabal (Madrid, 1971) recovers the memory of emblematic buildings that have been destroyed worldwide - Berlin, Valencia, Paris, London, Madrid, New York, Bucarest, Tokyo, Lisbon- with installations inspired by the main constructive lines of these missing buildings. The installations are presented in the original locations where the historical buildings used to be. The project is completed with a group of artworks produced during the research process of the artist: photos, drawings, models, silk screens...
The exhibition in Germany “The Wandering Church” will be on show in Berlin from May to October 2012 and is a recreation of Bethlehemskirche in its original location, a unique building in the middle of Berlin, representing one of the most beautiful chapters of the relations between Germany and Bohemia.
